History

Unusualness of this place is proven by its history, which is connected with Gdańsk so much, that still on the foreign tours itinerary, there is a stop on Szeroka Street with short story about the Gdańsk vodka - Goldwasser.
Dutch Mennonite Ambrosius Vermoolen, after he had been given the Gdańsk citizenship, in year 1598 he launched the alcohol distillery, which he named "Der Lachs" - the salmon.
Since then, this fish, being the symbol of happiness and prosperity, has signed all the products of this tasting room. "Goldwasser" became the most popular product made in his small factory.
